DESCRIPTION:
War Clouds,

Communal Violence,

and a Concert for PEACE

Saturday, November 2, 2002

Organized by Indian Progressive Study Group, L.A. at the University of Southern California

November 1 is the 18th anniversary of the state-sponsored massacre of over 5,000 Sikhs in New Delhi. The ongoing violence in Gujarat is a stark reminder of this legacy of 1984. While people are forced to contend with such attacks, their security and progress are further threatened by the very real danger of war. Communal violence, war and terrorism have created deep insecurity for all people in the region. Who benefits from this? What are the avenues for change? What role must people play to end the politics of violence? Join us for a discussion meeting, followed by a concert for peace and friendship.
