The event features a night of art, singers, music, and poetry as the Southern California Library holds a reception for local artist Dalila Paola Mendez, whose artwork is on display at the Library from August 19 to September 19. The reception will be held Friday, September 9, 6-9 p.m. at the Library, located at 6120 S. Vermont Avenue, Los Angeles. The event is free and the general public is invited to attend. Also on display at the Library is a collection of photographs from photojournalist Greg Constantine, as part of an ongoing project that aims to expose the struggles women face after having spent much of their lives trapped in the criminal justice system.
