This summer a group of youth who work with the Revolutionary Communist Youth Brigade (RCYB) traveled to San Salvador Atenco, Mexico, to learn about the lives, struggles, and "war stories" of the men and women fighters in Atenco. Since October 2001, the campesions of Atenco have waged a just and heroic struggle to defend their land from an unjust expropriation. Their unrelenting and determined struggle forced the Mexican government to cancel pans of building an international airport on their land, but they have not cancelled the airport project in the sorrounding communities. These youth will report back on what they learned about the strenght and fierce determination of the campesinos. They will share this highly under reported and significant struggle and share the people's stories with those on this side of the U.S./Mexican border. Join us on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 2 p.m. at Libros Revolucion in learning more about how their important fight is connected with the struggle against globalization and how to build international support for this campesino uprising.
