DESCRIPTION:
Annual L.A. River Ride from Griffith Park to Long Beach Bike Station and back, or come back on the Blue Line. Fully supported, with rest stops, portapotties, water, snacks, sweep, and even a caboose group for the slow pokes (10 miles per hour). Ride out is at 8:00 with registration available at the start in Griffith Park up to 9:00. Barbecue at the finish in Griffith Park for suggested donation. Ride solo or with a group and enjoy the improvements being made to the L.A. River. L.A. Bicycle Coalition has been working on having a safe and complete path all along the River to Long Beach. A rest stop along the way at Friends of the L. A. River offices on Ave. 26 in Cypress Park, formerly Lawry's Restaurant. If you've never ridden the Blue Line, here's your chance. And what a gas to ride the River and then the Blue Line with a group of cyclists! Call LACBC member Stephen May at 213-689-0669 for more information. If you want to borrow a bike for the day, maybe it can be arranged.
