School Funding Crisis -- What You Should Know Take Action!
Don't Sign Governor's Petitions
Tell the Governor to stop cutting our public schools.
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger dealt teachers, parents and students a disturbing blow when he proposed his 2005-06 state budget and announced various legislative proposals. The governor also announced plans to dismantle Proposition 98, which provides minimum funding guarantees for public schools, a merit pay system for all teachers, and changes to the State Teachers Retirement System that would put educators' retirement at risk. Additionally, he's proposing to undercut due process rights for teachers, and silence teachers' voices in the political arena. *********
