DESCRIPTION:
FILMS FOR PEACE AND JUSTICE screens :

"JUVIES" - a riveting look at a world most of us will never see: the world of juvenile offenders who are serving incomprehensibly long prison sentences for crimes they either did not commit or

were only marginally involved in.

Most of us are unaware of our juvenile "justice" system, thinking children are handled fairly and with care. But the system has turned its back on its initial mission to protect young people and now sends over 200,000 kids through the adult system each year committing many to Draconian sentences of 35 years to life!

FRIDAY, Jan. 7, 7 PM

VELOCITY CAFE, 2127 Lincoln Blvd,

at Pacific St. in Santa Monica.

(three blocks south of Pico Blvd.)

Even more extraordinary is the

discussion following film led by Colombian,

Hector Aristizabal, who was arrested, jailed

and tortured for 10 days. He now works with

victims of torture and with Juvenile Delinquents

in prison. He is also a 'drumming' story teller

and will share a story with us.

You won't want to miss it!
