DESCRIPTION:
Communities in Solidarity with Immigrant Workers invite you to support Assi supermarket workers in their struggle for justice. Nearly 60 workers at Koreatown's largest supermarket have recently been suspended without pay in an attempt by the owner to crush their unionizing efforts.

Since August 1, these workers have been picketing the market daily and calling for a boycott. In this urgent time, they need the community's financial support to cover rent and other emergency expenses while maintaining their demand for reinstatement. We urge you to contribute.

Community supporters are trying to raise ,000 every two weeks in order to support the workers who have committed themselves to picketing every day instead of seeking alternate employment.

Sounds like a lot of money and it is - but, KIWA and others helped raise ,000 during the month of August. This money has been distributed to those families most in need.
