Screening at c-level Tuesday May 11 at 7:30 PM

1. The Children's Studio Presents

2. "Volume #1: Meditation and Violence" by Sam Gould

3. Pink Bloque Actions 2002-03

-the entire screening is app. 1.5 hours long

c-level will be screening these strange performance works made by individuals and collectives that we met at Chicago's Versionfest >04: invisibleNetworks convergence.

-----------------

1. -The Children's Studio Presents

(documentation of a live performance in San Francisco)

Organic Man, a recovering genetically-modified-plant turned organic-fundamentalist and Space Invader, a dated-arcade-game-come-to-life who wonders why no one will play with him anymore take off on a magical adventure. They explore daily urban life in search of rhyme and reason and some one to play with.

Using play as a tactic, the two mascots alter situations, creating spaces of humor and absurdity. Too ridiculous to be seen as a threat and too awkward to be arrested they are able to infiltrate various locales. Currently the two are making their way to a foosball tournament in Mexico City.

2. - Sam Gould of Red76, "Volume #1: Meditation and Violence".

The first volume of his video series "The 60's". The series deals with interpreting the 1960's through the eyes of someone born in the mid-1970's through the use of sock puppet actors and found sound. "Volume #1: Meditation and Violence" deals with two incidents in the life of poet Allen Ginsberg.

The Pink Bloque is a Chicago based radical feminist dance troupe committed to challenging the whitesupremicistcapitalistpatriarchy one street dance at a time. This tape is a work in progress documenting five of the over fifteen actions the Pink Bloque has done . It is meant to accompany our workshop not be a stand alone piece.
