Subject: Into the Heart of Terrorism w/NVC

One year after September 11,

Into the Heart of Terrorism with Nonviolent Communication

Do you want a way to understand terrorism?

Do you want a different way to respond to terrorism?

Do you want a way to break the cycle of violence?

Nonviolent Communication is the language of the heart that focuses on our feelings and needs with a purpose of creating a connection where everybody's needs are valued. Marshall Rosenberg, Ph.D., rediscovered this language about 35 years ago. Using it allows you to:

* Transform potential conflicts into peaceful dialogues

* Break patterns that lead to anger

* Speak your mind without creating hostility (nonjudgmental)

* Seek solutions that work for everyone

* Learn how to ask for what you want using clear positive language

Rodger Sorrow and Kathi Aichner will present a basic introduction to Nonviolent Communication and offer alternative ways to understand and respond to terrorism.

PLACE: The Peace Center, 8124 W. Third Street, Los Angeles - free parking in the back

DATE & TIME: Saturday, September 7, 2002 from 9 AM to 2 PM

COST: Freewill donation requested

Walk-ins welcomed. Sign-in at the door. Space is limited and seating will be on a first-come, first seated basis.

It's suggest you dress casual and comfortable, and bring note-taking materials with you. A short 30 minute lunch break will be taken so you may want to bring a sack lunch.
