UFCW Local 1442's Strike Force and the National Lawyers Guild are planning a
mass picket line and rally Wednesday night, February 11th, from 6:00 p.m. to
9:00 p.m. at the Vons at 710 Broadway (at Lincoln and Broadway) in Santa
Monica.
They specifically want a lot of people from community groups to come with
their own signs, banners, noisemakers etc., to demonstrate the enormous support
this strike has from the public. The last few rallies have had hundreds of
people and a lot of press has been there eager to talk to strike supporters about
why we support the battle for healthcare and decent wages.
Once again, please bring video cameras and still cameras if you have them-and
be sure to post the best of your pictures on the local strike websites.
La.indymedia.org and geocities.com/backlassoweb are updating their pictures
regularly and they are pretty inspiring. These are the records of what is one of
the most important labor battles in U.S. history.
