Featuring ESTEE CHANDLER of Jewish Voice for Peace

What role should the US have in the Israel/Palestine conflict? What part can American Jews play? Is criticizing Israel antisemitic? All are welcome to be part of this community discussion.

Estee Chandler is the Jewish American daughter of an Israeli father and an American mother. She grew up in So Cal where her work in the film industry, on both sides of the camera, spans more than thirty years. She co-hosts the KPFK radio show “Middle East in Focus.” In 2010, Estee launched a Los Angeles chapter of Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP), a national organization promoting solutions based on universal human rights for both Palestinians and Israelis equally.

This FREE talk is part of the monthly Politics & Culture series presented by the Sholem Community and SoCal Arbeter Ring/Workmen’s Circle. Sholem offers secular Jewish programs for progressive Jews and multicultural families, including a non-religious Sunday School. Interested parents may email ross@sholem.org to have their children sit in on a class.

Entrance at rear of building, accessible from Coral Tree Place
