NCM, a nationwide coalition of over six hundred ethnic media outlets, and the Greenlining Institute, representing major minority business, church, consumer and civil rights groups, will host the second major gubernatorial debate of this year?s recall election.

So far, three of the six top candidates have committed to participating in the debate: Lieutenant Governor Cruz Bustamante, Arianna Huffington and Peter Camejo. A commitment has not yet been received from the McClintock, Ueberroth or Schwarzenegger campaign teams.

The candidates will answer questions from a panel of journalists representing the state?s major ethnic media. They include: KTSF/China Crosstalk, ABS-CBN, The Filipino Channel; Worldlink TV/Mosaic?World News from the Middle East; Soul Beat TV; La Opinion; and Univision. The debate will focus on issues significant to California?s ?Minority Majority? population of over 20 million, including positions on Prop 54, immigrant rights, taxes, education and healthcare.

Greenlining?s forty members include the California Black Chamber of Commerce, the California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Latin Business Association, National Council of Asian American Business Associations, First AME Church, Hermandad Mexicana Nacional and the Southeast Asian Community Center. NCM?s members include major representatives of key media markets spanning Hispanic, Asian, South Asian, African American, and Arab/Middle Eastern audiences.
