LOS ANGELES March 21, 2006 – Anti-war activists protested outside the offices of California Senator Fienstien on Monday. A die-in was staged while the names of those killed in Iraq were read aloud. They then placed coffins draped with US flags at the doors to the building, sat down in front of the coffins and blocked the entrance to the building.
Eight protesters were arrested for trespassing. At the time of this publishing seven of those arrested have been released. The one protester still in jail is expected to be arraigned and released latter today.
The office of Senator Fienstien was chosen because of her support for the war and her husband’s ties to the weapons industry. The group is calling for the immediate withdrawal of all US forces from Iraq and Afghanistan. More such actions are planned in the future.
