I love this.
I took a history of non-western art, and learned about the chumash indians, and their impressive basket weaving.
This is a map, I should email to my professor, and they had this map at chicano park! how wonderful!

There is a map on the endpages of the autobiography of Delfina Cuero, a Kumeyaay woman of the past century, (Ballena Press, 1991, by Florence Shipek) that is wonderful for me. The map covers from Ensenada to LA, the Pacific to the Colorado River, just about my own personal range. It and Delfina's life illustrate, as do some of the pictures on the new sdindy site, just how much I love where I live, how wonderful it is to be from around here, del desierto al mar, and how I know that no corporate power can take it away- our culture is inside us all, loving.
