Men are also trafficked. Also, while sex work is a big fraction of trafficking, there are also people who are sold into domestic slavery, as workers in factories, and in debt bondage to gangs.
The current over-focus on victimized women sex workers tends to obscure the fact that slavery is used to provide labor for businesses. It's not only a kind of rape - it's exploitation by business interests and organized crime.
As a male working at WTLC, I can say that nobody is trying to over-focus on victimized women, and nobody wants to obscure any kind of slavery. (You are making a big assumption)
But this event can be a great opportunity to you to meet people from WTLC. Their are going to be more than happy to help you to learn about this agency and provide information about many other agencies in southern California that are working with victims regardless race, gender, religion, age, or national origin.
At the same time, I will encourage you to, instead to "obscure" the hard work that people are trying to put together, to rise your voice to denounce any kind of abuse and to support others efforts. (Even if they look "over-focused")
