One million Voices for Peace has cancelled the concert for peace, over a year in the planning because of threats to the lives of their Palestinian leadership. Terror wins.
A grass-roots peace concert calling for a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestinian conflict was called off on Sunday after threats were made to Palestinians supporting the event.
The New York-based One Voice organization had planned to hold simultaneous concerts in Tel Aviv, Israel, and the West Bank town of Jericho, with Canadian rock star Bryan Adams in lead billing.
The Jericho concert was called off last week due to security concerns, including threats to blow up the West Bank office of One Voice, said group founder Daniel Lubetzky. On Sunday, the Tel Aviv concert was canceled in solidarity.
Organizers of One Voice aim to collect a million signatures of Israelis and Palestinians calling for their leaders to negotiate a final peace settlement within a year. The concert was meant to support the signature campaign, with those attending the event - free of charge - required to sign the petition.
Around 600,000 Palestinians and Israelis signed on to support the organization's call for negotiations to begin between both sides. It also has received support from Hollywood stars such as Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston, Rhea Perlman, Danny de Vito and Jason Alexander.

Yup this is exactly what I thought it was. Another PR attempt to celebrate the conquest of Palestine by parading some Palestinians through the village square as humble examples of subjugation. Kinda explains the lack luster participational furor.

The vast majority of Palestinians support a two-state solution- surveys indicate anywhere from 65-75%. The Palestinians and the Israelis will make this decison- not elitist Americans who seek to turn this area into yet another iraq by imposing their will on people who are not interested.

309,323 ISRAELIS 275,089 PALESTINIANS 14,005 INTERNATIONAL SUPPORTERS
OneVoice Statement: Lies and Threats Savaging Truth, Palestinian Cause and Opportunity for Change
12 days ago a slanderous press release was launched by a fringe group that sparked rumors that OneVoice Palestine exists to negotiate away the rights of refugees and international law. OneVoice’s teams here come together to categorically deny this and expose the fact that some Palestinians have been misled by a sinister campaign of hate, coupled with vicious threats of violence from extremists that have spiraled out of control.
OneVoice is a civil society movement to empower the conflict resolution process from the grassroots. We have no power to affect the content of negotiations, but we do have the power to tell the leaders and international community that we will no longer accept a failure to deliver real progress. The OneVoice Mandate calls on our heads of State to commence immediate negotiations, uninterrupted until the conclusion of a vaiable Two State agreement in order to amplify moderate forces in the November negotiations. That is the power of the grassroots and without a mobilized grassroots constituency we leave our leaders open to attack and without the strength to deliver real answers.
Of course the people have demands, whether they be to end the occupation or to deliver security, OneVoice, however, does not have a political platform other than to endorse negotiations for a Two State solution and stands only to support the leaders and demand that the will of the people serve to energize the process. Its Palestinian offices in Gaza City and Ramallah, run by nationalist Palestinians for nationalist Palestinians, exist to do exactly this.
And so, an organization of around 600,000 Palestinian and Israeli signatories, board members from Palestinian Chief Negotiator Saeb Erekat, Jibril Rajoub, and Islamic Chief Justice Sheikh Taysir al-Tamimi to Arab-American Institute President Dr Jim Zogby and Founder George Salem, is being targeted by absolutists with no intention of ending the conflict, who are defrauding the people out of their right to peace, and into being a part of their battle. They must not be tolerated and we implore all of you who are confused by the lies and seek further clarification to look at the OneVoice track record and materials yourselves.
The opportunity is not lost: 600,000 people have already spoken and will not lose the hope and momentum we are building in the wake of the Arab Peace Initiative and the upcoming November Summit.
We will stand by President Abbas and tell him that he can and must deliver something for the people and that we will support him every step of the way when he does because these enemies of peace will attack him too as they did attack Chairman Arafat’s ‘peace of the braves’ and all other efforts toward a just solution that will bring about Palestinian independence, an end to the occupation and peace with its neighbors including Israel based on the terms that he as the Palestinian head of state agrees upon.
These enemies who use intimidation, fear and manipulation to protract the conflict through absolutist ideologies do not have any actionable proposals that will fulfill the wish of the Palestinian people. They have enchained the people for far too long.

Are you *still* trying to actualize this total fraud? Amazing since the made up figures and pro-two state (Genocide as usual ) 'Palestinians' seem to not want to play.
So now we see the imaginary numbers like the imaginary Palestinians who support it.
Pathetic but predictable from immoral liars and murderers who are desperately trying to do PR repair after decades of slaughter and racist ethnic cleansing.

Those who wish to impose their will on the masses have threatened violence against the organization and the participants. Until we can guarentee their safety, we can not hold this concert. But it will happen. It is the will of the people- the faceless, voiceless masses who yearn for peace. Extremists like you may win the battle but you will never win the war. The people united can never be defeated, and the people have spoken, in overwhelming numbers. Two states for two people! One Million Voices for Peace!

The extremists are the zionazis who deny the rights of the people of Palestine to exist outside the 'israeli' run ghettos where incursions and humiliations are a constant way of 'life'. There's your two state FINAL SOLUTION.
by Forgot Oslo,Eh?
Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007 at 5:02 PM
The sheer racism of the White Man'sBurden must be overwhelming for these Israel haters. Have you perhaps forgotten Oslo, where the Palestinians voted and chose to a separate political entity outside of Israel? Of course, the Israelbashing idiots need to dictate to these poor simple brown people what they really want. Clear racism.
by It's still Genocide
Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007 at 5:24 PM
The codification of check points and walled Ghettos. We all remember Oslo. Except of course when the 'israelis' violated every one of the agreements regarding the illegal settlements.
by sheer nonsense!
Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007 at 2:01 PM
sheer nonsense! Lets see a "walled ghetto". In California, we have larger stone walls than anything Israel has constructed for security, except here we call them "sound walls" . Big deal. Every border crossing into California has a "checkpoint." The ones where they ask if you have any fruit or vegetables. So what? Its prettyobvious that the same people that oppose Israel's security measures are the same people cheering for the suicide bombers.
by It's still Genocide
Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007 at 3:36 PM
Are you serious? are you expecting us to believe the walls and check points are like vegetable stops? How many people do you know of that are killed at a fruit check? And since the 'israelis' initiated violence in the first place which carved Palestine into these little ghettos from hell, do you now expect the Palestinians to join your celebration? Is it any wonder zionists are considered psychopaths?

President Abbas Affirms OneVoice Mandate Corresponds with his Platform Singer Ilham Al Madfai Denounces False Reports, Emphatically Supports OneVoice
Ramallah In a press conference today, Dr. Saeb Erekat, Chief Palestinian Negotiator and Spokesperson of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, explained that President Mahmoud Abbas asked him to clarify that OneVoice Palestine is a non-governmental organization committed to upholding the vision of President Abbas. Dr. Erekat delivered his remarks in a press briefing on the recent visit of U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to the Middle East.
"The president would like to say that OneVoice organization is an NGO that has every right to work,' said Dr. Erekat. Erakat explained the organization had sent invitations to a OneVoice Summit under the auspices of the President without receiving an official endorsement, but added that the OneVoice 'political program, after Abu Mazen read it, reflects the Presidents platform and the Palestinian objectives."
Erakat added, "[President Abbas] would like to reiterate his full support to those NGOs and civil society organizations that work for democracy, a culture of peace, and ending occupation on the basis of a two-state solution."
Dr. Erakat explained that a lot of "misleading information"had been provided about OneVoice. He said contrary to what was widely spread, "[President Abbas] read the document of OneVoice and this document corresponds with his political program of ending the occupation that began in 1967 by having two states: a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital next to an Israeli state along the 67 borders and solving the issues reserved to the permanent status negotiations: Jerusalem, borders, refugees and settlements consistent with relevance to the security council international resolutions."
Today, renowned Iraqi recording artist, Ilham al Madfai, also re-affirmed his support for OneVoice, contrary to reports circulating that he had pulled out of the October 18th Summit in Jericho. "I have been very clear to all those who have been calling that I regretted not being able to participate in OneVoice Palestine's effort to raise the voice of the Palestinian people for an end to the occupation, and for peace in the region." Mr. Madfai added, "I call upon all boycott groups to stop threatening and intimidating artists and to respect the freedom of all."
Mr. Madfai explained he had received a lot of "threatening phone calls and warnings"from groups opposed to his visit but he cherished the day when all logistical and travel challenges, including procuring visas for al his crew and band, could be resolved to enable him "to sing with the Palestinian people and with the people of the world, a song of peace, justice, dignity, respect, and hope."
OneVoice Palestine is part of a movement of ordinary citizens that now surpasses 600,000 signatories not just in Palestine and the Arab world, but with citizens in solidarity across America, Europe and Israel, who agree on the imperative of ending the conflict and propelling and supporting their Heads of State to immediately commence negotiations, uninterrupted till the conclusion of a two state agreement. The international movement does not take specific positions on the agreement that the Heads of State must deliver, emphasizing that is a duty of the political representatives, but it does empower citizens to propel and support their Heads of State towards the negotiating table. In efforts to mobilize the moderate majority in Palestine and Israel, the OneVoice Movement has trained over 3,000 Palestinian and Israeli youth leaders. Specifically, OneVoice Palestine has trained 1,800 Palestinian youth leaders and has offices in Gaza and Ramallah.
OneVoice Palestines Honorary Board includes the Chief Islamic Justice, Sheikh Taysir al Tamimi, the son of President Abbas, Yasser Mahmoud Abbas, Dr. Saeb Erakat, and a dozen more Palestinian dignitaries, scholars, and religious leaders. www.OneMillionVoices.org

Here is what is funny. Or tragic like watching a rabid dog chew itself into shreds, depending on your view point.
Zionists want a world to accept the farce of a 'One Voice' while maintaining a racist segregated state where the original people are subjected to every outrage that can be visited on a people. Hardly one voice unless it's the voice of conquest from the oppressors, if never victors, of these people.

The criminal zionist will always draw non-involved Jews into their depravity as the above post of transparent black propaganda shows. It's always the ADL which, for instance, funds white supremacy groups and have been caught defacing synagogues as part of the essential racist backdrop they cultivate. Associating Jews with zionism is like calling all Germans nazis. They have no honor or shame. They also have no regard for their fellow Jews. Their progenitors sent their 'fellow' Jews into the camps, funded the 3rd Reich and now wallow in the grief they caused. Despicable.

"Zionism" is the political expression of natural right of the Jewish people to national self determination. "Anti-zionism" is inherently racist in that it seeks to deny this right, and "peoplehood" to the Jewish people but only the Jewish people.
Its very simple

by Tell me more about...
Friday, Nov. 02, 2007 at 8:16 PM
Tell me more about. the history of these people, these "Palestinians". Who was their leader one hundred years ago, what was their currency called, what makes their language, religion, culture unique from their neighbors?
I can tell you a little about the ones from Caesarea ;
The modern settlement of Caesarea began in 1884, when Muslims from Bosnia built a small fishing village on the ruins of the Crusader fortress on the coast. Between the end of the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century, Baron Edmond James de Rothschild purchased much of the land around Caesarea http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caesarea,
So, are their descendants also "indigeneous" to Israel? The vast majority of the ancestry of todays "Palestinians" is from elsewhere and within historic times. No, they're not the descendants of "lost Jews or Christians" either, thats been disproven. Thats why its called "Jewish history"but the "Palestinian NARRATIVE".
by Why
Friday, Nov. 02, 2007 at 10:59 PM
Why do a mythical people who never had any ancestors in the land of Palestine, then invert reality, to challenge the legitimacy of a people who have lived there for thousands of years and then were subjected to a pogrom of Genocide by these made up people? Zionists are scum.
by One Might Ask
Friday, Nov. 02, 2007 at 11:06 PM
Why did these criminals then adopt the cloak of Judaism to exploit the populations of Europe and send their 'fellow' Jews into the concentration camps where they shared profit from, as in any enterprise they insinuate themselves into by stealth and betrayal.

Forgive me. The parrot talk bazzaro-world inversions will be hidden. As will the repetitious reposts. Once should be enough. Please come up with an argument as to why the israeli state insists on riding this transparent farce for status quo as in a two state 'solution' to mask further outrages.
Tear down your walls. Free Palestine.
