Mindful of the upcoming 3rd anniversary of an illegal Invasion, the B'whacked Regime turned up its propaganda machine another notch, in a 'thinly-veiled' attempt to deflect media coverage of this weekend's Global Protest against the U.S. Terror War on Iraq(hundreds of cities and towns across 24 time zones will have massive citizens' protest marches & rallies against the Evil Empire's wars of Occupation.)

Unfortunately, the "Enemy" doesn't want to co-operate. So the thousands of USA Invaders and their Iraqi puppy dogs--aka the Iraqi security force--have been running around aimlessly in the desert around Baghdad. Central Command mouthpieces have been forced to spin the few rusty rifles they have found as "major weapons caches." Keen observers conclude that the "Coalition forces" must have been led by an Inspector Clouseau.

And all this time I thought they were being led by Lawrence of Arabia, brought out of retirement to ride his camel once again. (Or was that Peter O'Toole?)

Funny how this war is supposed to be against "Islamic extremists" with their backward religion and all, but the fiercest resistance, at least right now, seems to be coming from the Sunni Triangle, the most secularized part of the country. And our beloved allies are the feudal monarchies Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, where the most fundamentalist and backward religious ideas and practices are rampant. I'm no defender of Saddam Hussein's regime - he did, after all, launch an unprovoked invasion of Iraq with the encouragement of the US that cost hundreds of thousands of lives. But Iraq under his rule was in some ways more secularized than Israel or those parts of the United States that are ruled by Christian Right politicians and where the population is constantly being stupified by the ranting of crackpot evangelists telling them that the story of Noah's Ark is literally true or that God wants them to follow Bush into war with Iran.
