FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
PIRATE CAT RADIO RETURNS TO LOS ANGELES!
-----------------
Fundraiser parties:
The Cocaine (LA), Wednesday, February 8
LB Warehouse (Long Beach), Friday, February 24
After years of exile in fog-bound San Francisco,
PIRATE CAT RADIO has returned to L.A., where the
renegade station first grew wings. Pirate Cat Radio
now broadcasts from a hotwired zeppelin hovering over
the city and can be heard at 87.9 FM from West
Hollywood down to Long Beach. Pirate Cat Radio is the
first pirate radio station to ever broadcast to two
major cities simultaneously. And thanks to the
on-going War on Terror, Pirate Cat Radio is still
legal and patriotic as ever!
All this expansion costs money, and Pirate Cat is
hosting a couple of fundraising shindigs:
Wednesday February 8 at 8pm, $6:
A HAPPY DEATH, ALEX GARDENER, SOAPBOX ROULETTE,
SILENCE IS TREASON
venue: The Cocaine, 366 E. 2nd St., LA, CA 90012

Pirate Cat Radio? What corporate marketing jerk thought that name up? Judging from their web site and some of the links on their site it does not seem to be real pirate station. Their station programming has zero grassroots political content. And the bands they are pushing, well. The look and feel smells of corporate $ and they have money for a blimp?
And what do they mean by “And thanks to the on-going War on Terror, Pirate Cat Radio is still legal and patriotic as ever!” Also they refer to Title 47 Section 73.3542 of the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations, since when does a pirate station give a f*ck about what the FCC says.
47CFR73.3542 only authorizes emergency operations of a licensed transmitter-station. See the attached.
