In the yaer 2000, Robert Mugabe a Marxist-Leninist and head of Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF) began the policy of using veterans to violently occupy white-owned farm land. Hundreds of thousands of migrant farm workers lived and worked on these fields that grew or raised corn, cattle, tobacco and oranges. The veterans who were used to violently occupy the land had no knowledge of agricultural science nor experience in farming. Nor were they given tools, seeds or equipment. In fact, Robert Mugabe later purged many of the veterans he once so adroitly used, in favor of his cronies.

Repression is rampant in the country, so is inflation. "Being caught filmakinkg could mean up to 2 years in jail." 2

In the chaos and violence over 1,000 white-owned farms have been occuppied. Many of the farmers were murdered, beaten or intimidated into giving up their land. 3

Many people in Zimbabwe have voted aginst the ZANU-PF and are calling on the International Criminal Court to prosecute Robert Mugabe.

The Zimbabwean Army has reportedly "trained in the use of Israeli-supplied riot gear worth US $1 Million from the israeli arms manufacturer Beit Alfa Trailer Company in 2001." 4

Workers World and the International Action Center Support Robert Mugabe and the ZANU-PF. This is horrible and must be opposed! Also Robert Mugabe is giving shelter to a brutal communist dictator named Mengistu who along with his allies murdered up to 500,000 Ethiopians in the infamous Red Terror.
