Completion of First Documentary Featuring John Kerry is Announced

Amid a flux of political documentaries, Winning New Hampshire, the first film featuring Presidential Nominee John Kerry, has been completed and made available to US film festivals. The independent film, produced and directed by William Rabbe, Aram Fischer and Mark Lynch, examines the road to the 2004 Democratic Nomination through the first primary state: New Hampshire. It is expected to become popular in the lead up to the November election and marks the emergence of political documentaries to the independent circuit.

Films such as Fahrenheit 911, The R Word, and George Butler’s upcoming John Kerry feature display the growing trend and appeal of the political documentary, yet, Winning New Hampshire is the first independent film on the 2004 Presidential race and is the only one that addresses the emerging political youth movement. Rabbe, who began the project while John Kerry was polling in single digits, thinks the film captures a time of political passion and illustrates the carnival-esque nature of the first in the nation primary.

Winning New Hampshire will appeal to political junkies in the current political atmosphere, but filmmakers are also noting it as a keen endeavor. It received a nod from veteran filmmaker George Butler, who has also joined Winning New Hampshire as an Executive Producer.
