Artists and designers who think that war and occupation are not solutions to the problems in the world today, are featured in an exhibition of hand made prints entitled, "Yo! What Happened to Peace?" This exhibition of contemporary pro-peace, anti-war & anti-occupation posters, is designed to spread the message of non-violence and showcase the beauty of hand-crafted printing. The exhibition is currently in Boston and will travel to New York for this summer's political conventions.
All artworks are hand printed... meaning silkscreen, stencil, letterpress, block print, lithograph, etc. For more details, or to see some of the artworks online, visit: http://www.33graphic.com/yo

I have an answer for you:
Islamic Terrorists murder 3,000 in New York and Washington DC on 11 SEP 01.
Any more inane questions?
I wonder if there are any 3D, like sculpture or if there is animation?
For this particular exhibit, the curator/organizer was concerned about the "dying arts" of hand made prints... that is, silkscreens, lithographs, linocuts, woodcuts, and monoprints (single unique prints).
It was thought that this show could not only present strong political opposition to war and militarism... but it could also promote the unique art of hand made prints, which have been suffering lately because of the amount of digital art being produced. No one has anything against digital art, sculpture, video, or any other expressive medium... but the curator/organizer was making a political point by focusing on a traditional medium that has been "out of vogue" and dying on the vine of late.
The "Yo! What Happened to Peace?" exhibit is quite extraordinary, both for it's commitment to a progressive voice AND to it's commitment to the fine art of print making. The website for the project does NOT do justice to the entire exhibition, which contains over 150 fine art prints by a nearly equal number of talented artists.
There are a couple good traditional print exhibitions in LA that I want to check out.
One is Favianna Rodriguez at 33 1/3 books on Alvarado near Sunset. She's the queen of anti-globalization art.
The other is Mark Vallen at Shenere Velt at the Arbeter Ring (Workmen's Circle) on Robertson.
Another exhibition of photographs of LA is coming up at Crewest, a graff gallery in Alhambra on Valley (kind of on the west end of town). This one could be good.
Also, there's an art sale at Flor Y Canto this coming Sunday. There should be a lot of low-cost art there for your wall.
See ya in the streets.
