New U.S. combat vehicle easily destroyed by Iraqi guerillas

by Stryker Tuesday, Mar. 30, 2004 at 6:17 AM

BEFORE) -U.S. Army occupation troops in Iraq show off their brand new Stryker vehicles, which sport newly designed anti-missile cages to protect against guerrilla rocket propelled grenade attacks. Each Stryker vehicle costs over $2 million. The Army plans to spend $4 billion to acquire 2,131 vehicles. The "before" photo was taken in the Iraqi city of Mosul, March 19, 2004, after occupation troops attempted to subdue the city with a show of force. AFTER) - An occupation army Stryker armored vehicle BLAZES on a hillside road in Mosul March 28, 2004 after it was hit and DESTROYED by a ROCKET PROPELLED GRENADE fired by resistance fighters (Reuters photo/Namir Noor-Eldeen) You don't really expect your tax dollars to be used for useless stuff like schools and hospitals, do you?!

Quoting "DEBKAfile", at:

http://www.debka.com/article.php?aid=738

"US military chiefs in Washington and Baghdad believe the Stryker, built by General Motors Defense of Canada and General Dynamics Land Systems Division of the United States, will provide American troops with a better response to the ubiquitous rocket-propelled grenade (RPG), favorite weapon of Saddam Hussein’s loyalists. They are expected to show their rapid- response mettle against the guerrillas’ agile RPG pick-up trucks, which turned up for the first time in the Samarra battle of November 30 after an absence of several months."

Yeah, it doesn't work but

by Meyer London Tuesday, Mar. 30, 2004 at 9:35 PM

think of how much money this piece of junk has made for General Dynamics - and that was the real purpose in building it in the first place. You don't think the auto manufacturers build cars that will last as long as possible, do you? What would that do to the auto industry? Now General Dynamics can build a new peasant-murdering vehicle, at taxpayers' expense, and charge a bundle for it. That'[s called shareholder value.

funny

by Sheepdog Tuesday, Mar. 30, 2004 at 9:48 PM

General Dynamics doesn't earn a dime from non tax payer sources and the share holders have the f*****g gall to give bonuses we didn't allow to the CEO ( I didn't see any thing on my voter pamphlet anyway) in the millions of dollars. At least GM ( spit) makes a FEW items for the general public.

the liberal doofus, demanding perfection from opponents....

by less fanatical Wednesday, Mar. 31, 2004 at 12:24 AM

no one claimed the Stryker was 'missle-proof' any more than the Titanic was claimed 'unsinkable.'

for those foolish enough to compare military spending versus spending on the liberal indoctrination/gunmmint school system:

NOWHERE in the Constitution is federal spending for schooling proscribed, but you can see the results daily of that failed federal mafia brainwashing system of unionized teachers and poor, trapped kids who can't read or write.

Waiter, why is it that your posts make no sense...

...does every idiot in Texas communicate in non-sequitors?

As I said earlier before my words of wisdom were erased by the leftist facist censors, let's just drop more daisycutters.

Stryker not missle-proof

by Meyer London Wednesday, Mar. 31, 2004 at 5:49 PM

Nothing like admitting that the purpose of putting the Stryker in Iraq was not to save the lives of US troops but to kill Iraqis. That, I guess, goes along with the program to install "democracy" (capitalist style) in the country by padlocking newspapers that don't agree with Bush and the US Army.

New Ride for Bushy

by Bush Hater Wednesday, Mar. 31, 2004 at 6:25 PM

Bush should ride around Baghdad for a few hours in one of those missle-resistant Strykers, preferably with "BRING IT ON" painted on the side.

by Bush Hater 2 Wednesday, Mar. 31, 2004 at 6:33 PM

Sorry, I didn't notice that there was another person already using Bush Hater as a handle, although I am not surprised. After this message, Bush Hater 2 disappears forever, even though he will still hate Bush.
