Do you know how LOW COST this solution is??
Merely buy up/scavenge some large-sized swaths of wire mesh (preferably heat-resistant metal), tie it together, and design so that it can be rolled out (?) or pulled over ones' home easily.
This is supposed to stop sparks from entering one's attic. So imagine its use in a bigger picture way!
Insulation such as hemp bricks might also be a good idea if they could be easily wheeled into place (?) between the wire and the home.
Seems to me that some teachers around there COULD EASILY START A COMPETITION WITH AREA SCHOOLS to DESIGN such solutions!! And then show such in various places!
Another approach i thought of and tried to pass around before is the idea of affinity groups creating large networks of fire-fighting crews OUTFITTED WITH GIANT RUBBER-BAND-LIKE slings.
Where they toss, hopefully via hundreds of crews, slightly wet balls of RE-USABLE fire retardants like BAKING SODA!!
