This development has been reported on Indymedia in recent years (e.g., https://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2016/12/10/18794572.php). Concerns have included impact on native flora and fauna (including condors) in the San Joaquin Valley. Plus a ton of water will have to be diverted to this new community, (as discussed earlier this year on KPFK's American Indian Airwaves). But there are still other reasons to oppose:

- Build a city of 55,000 an hour away from LA's job centers.
- Put 19,000 homes in an high wildfire hazard area
- Destroy 5,800 acres of irreplaceable habitat, home to the California condor and 14% of California's native flora!
- Add 75,000 more cars to Los Angeles freeways each day
- Charge California's taxpayers 0 million to widen Hwy 138
