If it walks like a duck .....

Once upon a time when I published a story I would occasionally send a copy to National Public

Radio. At the time I didn't have a tv or a computer and for several years I spent a lot of time listening to NPR. I know they read and used my stories because the insights, perspectives and information would show up in their stories. For a long time I never got any sort of recognition or acknowledgement of my contributions. So far that would be standard operating procedure for underground writers.

Then one day I got an email from National Public Broadcasting informing me that I had been added to their Public Insight Network. I had my own account with a password and everything. They were actively seeking input from the public. They called it the Public Insight Network but I am going to call it a Private Informant Network. I knew good and well the names of their contributors would be their own private business. They asked for my participation but didn't offer to pay anything. At that point I stopped sending them anything,

Asking for my work product without any offer of pay, not even acknowledgement of my contribution, was not the worst part of it. Because I had been listening to NPR a lot I knew several things about them. They had a heavy left wing bias. A lot of their employees were Jewish, they said so on the air. And they spent more time reporting on villages and affairs in radical muslim countries like Afghanistan, Iraq and Pakistan. There were a lot of Jewish boots on the ground in those muslim nations suffering violent upheaval. One has to wonder if their PINetwork was gleaning information in those countries as it was here in the U.S. An operation paid for with government funding. Use whatever verbiage you want, that is a de facto intelligence operation.

At that point I stopped sending them anything.

I now have both a tv and a computer and almost never listen to NPR. I have noticed, when I do, that their coverage of those muslim nations has shrunk. So has my appreciation of their product.
