The Winds of War
By Murdock Todd Cote (Doc)
A storm comes wild with rage
Not from the sea for all to see, from within the fire stirs
From coast to coast swelling as an angry sea
Hate and fear upon the land
Swell within the hearts of man
Corner not the child for soon he will be the man
Bayonet, sword in hand he will rise to free a troubled land
Willows fail to bend, and the trees break upon cannon’s roar
And civil war comes upon the land brother against brother,
Father and son again not north and south but all against the wind oh Columbia you have failed to break the one word for words mean everything,
Which spreads upon the people’s lips around the land?
Freedom, justice and equality and compassion for one another
For we our one land or we are none, divided by fear, divided by hate, and divided we will fall into the dust of History
Flags now unfurled regiments form to battles to come the march of battalions to war’s drum oh congress what have you become judge not us for you have brought wars drums upon the land, unfeeling and filled with hate the congress have become why civil war has begun freedom rises again upon the land of the eagle and the bear to free a troubled land
