On supporting the emerging freedom and justice movements in the Mid-east and beyond.
An important problem is that so few people here in the states, in the very “heart of imperialism,” are being exposed to “the truth.” Our leaders, and the lapdog media, are not capable of “helping” to bring democracy to the region. This would require speaking some truth on the subject which they are loath to do. They are too busy doing all that they can to prevent these long oppressed peoples from obtaining they’re needs. The only freedom our leaders care about is the “freedom of international capital” to have its’ craven way with the bulk of earth’s suffering humanity. So make no mistake, the rebellion across the region is against the western world’s harsh and dysfunctional capitalist system, though every western talking head, think-tanker, planted “so called expert,” is crying crocodile tears for the “Arab masses,” and telling you that they just want more of what our government/leaders/military/corporations, etc., have been imposing on them for decades and that is a damn lie! Open your eyes and ears. They are telling us to get the hell out and let them develop as they see fit!. It is called “true freedom!” Not the fake kind usually imposed on weak countries by the imperial nations (US, UK, France, Germany, etc., to name a few of the principles) from the developed west. As for Gaddafi in Libya he was “our man” in that suffering nation as long as the west got what it wanted no matter what grotesque crimes he meted out on the locals. The real aim of any further “intervention” will be to reinstall the status quo and that would be more disaster and oppression for the people living there. Nobody that cares about freedom, peace, and justice. should support such calls for Nato, UN, or even African union interventions, as these institutions are firmly under the control of the imperialist powers. Rest assured, a combination of Cuban, Chinese, Brazilian, and South African, etc., forces will not be requested for this “mission” by our “experts,” though all these nations have successfully carried out such efforts and would likely be welcomed by all the peoples where they would be sent.
It is up to the citizens to make democracy work. It is for this reason that I call upon people of good will everywhere to insure that justice be done by the democracy movement that is emerging today in the middle east and indeed, all over the world. Many of our governments, particularly of the developed west, have demonstrated an unwillingness to allow this freedom to take root. Therefore they should not and cannot be allowed to pretend a leading role in this advance toward liberation now. They absolutely can not be trusted.
Please spread very widely. In addition, discussion groups, teach-ins, reading tables, and all manner of creative activities can support and encourage this drive to liberation. Our willingness to gather and cooperate can achieve amazing feats for love and human dignity. Let’s get started. General Joe
