They wouldn't fund $18 billion to extend unemployment benefits, but they want to keep the Bush tax cuts that will cost us $700 billion.
18 billion in unemployment will go entirely to "stimulus" spending in the real economy.
700 billion to rich people will get invested in some other country, not in America.
