Caller to the newsroom reports a crowd of about 50 people surrounding the civil disobedience activists. The police [prseence is very heavy, and they currently outnumber the demonstrators, but have not yet engaged in any repression. They seem to be deliberating how to remove the protesters from the street. Both sides of the street are shut down, as is the ICE building.

Supporters are asking people to call the Chief of Police (714-245-8001) and the Deputy Chief (714-245-8722) to demand that they immediately release the 8 activists and drop their charges.

Just unloaded vans into Santa Ana police station. Charges are failure to disperse and unlawful assembly.

Reports from just outside the Santa Ana Police Department, where the eight are being held, indicate that those committing civil disobedience are refusing to provide identification or any identifying information. It appears that they are also being denied medial treatment and water. About 30 people are standing in solidarity with them outside the building.

Two arrestees released. The men are being moved.

Updates from the jail solidarity group:

5:30PM: Detainees were initially being denied food and water, but finally were given both food and water. Two of the detainees were injured--one woman and one man. They have yet to be given any assistance.

6:30PM: Two detainees have been released. The two that were released had given their identity and ID. One of the detainees has complained of stomach pain for hours now and hasn't been offered any medical assistance. Men are going to be moved to another undisclosed jail, possibly LA.
