LA-IMC reporter at the scene estimates 10,000+ with people coming in from all directions.
The march that was scheduled to start at noon is already pushing up Broadway. Densely packed marchers solid on Broadway from 11th Street to 6th Street.
A hand full of anti-immigrants counter protesters are at 3rd St.
11:30 am - At least 20,000 estimated now at downtown march.
Demonstrations continue downtown. Most of the main march up Broadway has arrived at the end point near City Hall. But there is still a significant number of marchers on Broadway. Multiple smaller marches of 200-300 in the area are also going on. Broadway remains closed. No reports of arrests or incidents of police violence.
In comparison to the million to two million person march some years ago, this isn't large. This is small but still a decent amount... more than in recent years.
More than the 50,000 some Chicago paper reported. 50,000 is a full house at Dodger Stadium, and it was bigger than that.
It was more like 100,000. There were people in the street from the start point to the end point, at the same time. Thousands of people left the march without completing it, because it was so crowded. (I was walking up a side street, and saw people both going away from the march and going toward the march.)
A lot of people were observing without marching, as well. There were crowded areas and not-so crowded areas.
