BRAZIL-USA: A NEW CENTURY OF DANGEROUS AND EXPLOSIVE RELATIONSHIPS

by Fabio de Oliveira Ribeiro Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009 at 4:55 PM
sithan@ig.com.br

It is always difficult to say to who the future belongs.

"The posture of Japan, of Turkey and of the Poland front to the USA will be still more confident than was after the second fall of the Soviet Union. That will be an explosive situation. As we will see along this book, the relationships among those four countries will affect broadly the century XXI, taking, finally, to the next world war. That war will be different from any other in the history, with weapons that today are in the limit of the science fiction. But as I will try to show, that war of the half of the century XXI will appear starting from the born dynamic forces of the first part of the new century." (THE NEXT 100 YEARS, George Friedman)

George Friedman's forecasts already began to be swallowed by the facts.

Brazil emerges of the American financial crisis economically more solid and it begins to develop an important program of modernization of their Armed Forces. The Brazilian ambitions are not more regional or continental, they are global because Brazilian multinationals already fixed roots in Europe, Africa and China.

China announced, today, his pretension of building naval bases in other continents. Brazil will motivate Venezuela to allow the installation of a Chinese military naval base in his territory, in way to allow to Chinese to control or to supervise the control of Panamá Channel. The Chinese presence in Latin America will counterbalance the threat caused by the American military bases in Colombia and to USA IV Naval Fleet (that literally can cut Brazil to the middle).

At the same time Brazil will deepen their commercial and military relationships with Russia. Like this the New Cold War mentioned by Friedman not will begin nor it will finish in the way that he imagines. Besides the Venezuelan and Chinese threat, the Americans will see Brazil as a steel fist gone back to his fucking stomach.

As a consequence of the new Brazilian politics, the USA will try to increase his political presence in Brazil. This will give the Brazilian left the excuse that lacks for it to behead the opposition accusing her of being betraying the country in benefit of the USA. The decapitation of the opposition will allow to the Brazilian government to enlarge their military expenses and to accomplish a wide program of nationalization of the American companies existent in Brazil. The interests of France, Germany, Spain and Japan in Brazil won't be affected and it is very possible that the American businesses are nationalized just for they be controlled later by French, Spanish, Germans and Japanese.

Who will be beside the USA and who will beside Brazil be in the new war? This the time will say.
