“ I did not become president to be popular”. Taking a cue from the dictator Marcos who said, “I did not become president to preside of the death of the Philippine republic” in 1972, Gloria M. Arroyo made her intentions very clear and went to the United States to seek the blessing and support of the new US president. Like all Philippine presidents before her, she will kowtow and try to impress the chief executive officer of the ruling capitalist class of the United States. She will for sure in the name of “fighting global; terrorism and “climate change” align her interest with the US of the capitalist class.

On the PGMA-Obama Meeting On July 29-31 in the US

Los Angeles – “ I did not become president to be popular”.

The Alliance Philippines (AJLPP) does not expect much from the GMA-Obama talks but further suffering and exploitation of the Filipino people in the Philippines and for the Filipino-American community in the United States.

All Words, No Action

At this early Obama is being exposed as just grandstanding wordsmith who cannot even control his own party. The economic crisis is aggravating and more and more money are being diverted for the rich while the poor suffers the brunt of poverty and budget cuts. There is n distinction on what democrat and the republicans stand for. They are united in exploiting and oppressing the people and sharing the spoils of the rotten system.

We puked at the expression of gratitude of PGMA for the measly $ 198 million for the Filipino World War II veterans and the sacrifices of the Filipino people during the Second World War, One million Filipinos died defending freedom and democracy but until now the Filipino veterans are still unrecognized and excluded from benefits and rights. Only a proven fanatic puppet can do such blatant smooching.

Under the slogan “ fighting climate change” the US will like to own 100% ownership of lands and corporations in the Philippines to further the degradation and exploitation of our natural resources. How can we present climate change they will destroy the remaining forests, extract minerals and displace minorities and destroy people’s lives?

How can we expect an equal treatment from America when they own corporations and lands that are reserved for Filipinos? When they maintain an army and agents meddling in internal Philippine affairs? When they dictate on the policies of the government and even control the conduct of elections?

The Alliance-Philippines will continue to struggle for just and lasting peace in the Philippines free from US imperialist control and domination. We will continue to work for the interest and welfare of the Filipino American community in the United States standing side by side with all oppressed nations and nationalities in this “land of the free and the home of the brave.”

Oust US-Arroyo Regime! Fight for a Free, Just, Progressive and Prosperous Philippines!

MAKIBAKA, HUWAG MATAKOT!

OUST GMA! DOWN WITH US IMPERIALISM!
