Art Dimensions is proud to present Fertile Dreams, an exhibit by Los Angeles based artist Freyda Miller. Since 1978, Miller has worked as a fine art photographer, painter and conceptual artist. Along with painting, carpentry, needlework, wardrobe, propping and other mediums and methods, the selected elements come together in her current exhibit to form a metaphorical language that draws on the mysterious, dream imagery, distant memories, gut reactions, unspoken fears and amorphous hopes. This body of work is composed of found objects, vintage treasures, personal mementos and items that speak to the heart and critical mind. The use of antique elements assists in depicting a mythical or fairytale interpretation allowing for dreamlike and timeless images.
Freyda Miller’s work is in the permanent collections of the St. Louis Museum of Art, The New Orleans Museum of Art, The Rijksmuseum: Amsterdam, Tokyo and Fuji Art Museum: Tokyo, Peter Palmquist Archives: Women in Photography International and the UCLA Library, Charles E. Young Research Library, Department of Special Collections.
