RAC in L.A. shoudl be warned, especially if you are female, that members of this organizacion have violently verbally attacked a female member of the of the activist community in l.a.

Arccording to a source, one or more members of the community group known as the RAC aggressively pursued a woman trying to organize a community street theatre project in MacArthur Park. they came up to her screaming insults and ordered her to leave the park saying that if she wanted to host events there in the futre she would have to speak to the RAC and get their approval.

The RAC are proving to be nothing more than a bunch of street thugs who ¨found Che¨. these are the very same misogynists we have been and will be fighting in the future.

You cannot ever justify violence again women, this is totally unaccecptable and those involved in the attack should be held accountable for their actions.

If, under ther cloak of autonomy, the RAC wants to ¨control¨ MacArthur Park just as the thugs in the hood then we will need to create public tribunals to hold those individuals accountable for any assault on a female.

Anyone from any community wishing to meet to dicuss how to proceed with charges against the members of the RAC should reply to this news item and we will create a time and space to go over the charges we wish to pursue against these misogynists.

The members will be granted a fair community hearing and both sides will be presnt to offer their explainations.

If it is determined that the members of the RAC were the aggressors the should be given the opportunity to publicly apologize or face immediate expulsion from the community.

It is never acceptable to assualt a woman anywhere, ever!

RAC stands for Revolutionary Autonomous Communities. We are a group formed after the police riot in MacArthur Park on May Day 2007 with the purpose of building a community network composed of and by and for the people of the area. Since the first week in November of last year RAC has obtained, consolidated and distributed free food to the needy of the area. We are to be found every Sunday in the Park at the SE corner of Wilshire and Park View doing so at appx 1:30. On average some 125-150 people receive food packages from RAC every Sunday.

As for the above, the comments by an anonymous writer about an unnamed person involving unknown RAC members doing unmentioned things at an unknown location at a time no one seems to know strikes one as COINTELPRO sorta shit. This baseless allegation ought be removed.

It doesn't matter that you didn't use any names- the post acts to discredit RAC as an organization by airing unconfirmed or yet to be confirmed allegations at them. This is textbook COINTELPRO.

he is a white male liberal who claims to be an anarchist. He is known to be divisive and is overall a questionable individual

He is someone who wants to put himself in the front of the struggle of oppressed people and criticize them when they try to organize themselves. he's tried to do it many times before.

RAc has never 'claimed' Mac Arthur Park or anywhere else. We are not there in any capacity but to assist the members of this community in (self-)organizing.

the only reason for my original post was because a friend, a FEMALE friend said she was attacked by someone claiming to be RAC. your younger and stronger than i am so i have no concern that should you choose to attack me you will win. but then that too would merely prove youre a thug´.

but i will do everything i need to do to protect all oppressed peoples from anyone no matter where or what community they are from. i will fight to keep women, men, children, black, brown, white, gay or straight free from any sort of oppression anywhere.

streets of l.a. are yours they always have been and will be. i have never acted like i was a leader of anything, cause i´m not and i distance myself from those roles, anyone who kn ows me well enough should know that.

i´ve addressed my obvious white male priveldge many many times of the years and have really reached a point where i´m tired of it being the only thing we argue about Joaquim. the struggle is going to become worse then you can ever begin to imagine. the enviornemtn is collapsing and will be gone in about 10 year. maybe it be behoove you to reach out to other communities and stop being so goddamned devisive yourself because it won´t be to much longer till you are all fighting in the streets over clean water and food.

I'm not a RAc member but they do good things at Mac Arthur park. Free food and free clothing program.
