Baguio City--As usual, Gloria Arroyo resorted to lies, stage gimmicks, misrepresentation, misdirection, and statistical hocus pocus to conceal the true state of the nation. Of couse, she again did all these with her characteristic overbearing aplomb.
As usual, she blamed the global crisis for the current national crisis. Of course, she failed to mention her role in implementing the imperialist policies of globalization, liberalization, and VAT collection that have led to greater impoverishment, hunger, and desperation among the Filipino masses.
As usual, Arroyo also found lame excuses for the rice crisis, such as the lack of a Mekong river in the Philippines and that our country has been importing rice since the Spanish colonial period. Of course, she conveniently forgot that the Philippines could achieve food sufficiency if only genuine agrarian reform were implemented and the corruption of agricultural funds were eradicated. Instead, she has not only tolerated but actually abetted and protected the likes of Jocjoc Bolante and shamelessly used fertilizer funds to buy the loyalty of government officials and the votes of the people.
As usual, Gloria glorified herself as a champion of the poor and caring for the masses. The hypocrite even claimed that her unpopularity is of no consequence if that were the price of serving the people. Of course, what she actually meant was that she really does not care what the masses think and feel.
As usual, she defended and glorified VAT as a good thing for the masses and bragged about the dole outs from VAT. Of course, this only shows how utterly subservient Arroyo is to the imperialist policy of taxing the people heavily as a means to offset budgetary deficits, and how greedily she sucks the people's lifeblood and still has the gall to say it is for the good of the people.
As usual, she cited certain individuals as showcases of Filipinos who have made a good life under her regime. Cunningly stage-managed, those individuals were spread out among the audience and promptly stood up and smiled when Arroyo called their names. Of course, those people were not representative of the Filipino majority who are now reeling and howling under Arroyo's evil republic.
Same old, same old. Ay ayaka sas engag! Rebolusyon kayet!
