THIS IS BASIC GRASSROOTS ORGANIZING WHICH WE MUST DO IF WE ARE TO WIN UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE AS THE STATE LEGISLATURES AND THE US CONGRESS ARE BEHOLDEN TO THE INSURANCE COMPANIES. The USA is 125 years behind Germany, where the German workingclass won universal healthcare, along with old age pensions and unemployment insurance in 1883 under Bismarck, thanks to the Paris Commune of 1871 and many other European labor struggles. American labor finally won old age pensions (Social Security) and unemployment insurance in 1935, after the 1934 general strikes of San Francisco, Minneapolis and Toledo. Universal medical coverage was on the agenda but FDR dropped it, catering to the Dixiecrats, the Southern segregationist Democrats. WE CANNOT WAIT ANY LONGER.

This petition campaign will also help build the two peace parties, Peace & Freedom Party, which originated this petition, and the Green Party, both supporters of single payer healthcare. You can do voter registration while you circulate these petitions.

IT IS BARRICADES TIME FOR EVERY SINGLE READER OF THIS WEBSITE WHO SUPPORTS SINGLEPAYER HEALTHCARE. DOWNLOAD THE PETITION, SIGN IT, SIGN THE CIRCULATOR'S DECLARATION, MAIL IT TODAY. If you have time, get more signatures NOW. The deadline is May 5, 2008 for 1 MILLION SIGNATURES in a state of 27 MILLION ADULTS. SINGLE PAYER HEALTHCARE IN NOVEMBER 2008. CALIFORNIA IS A BELLWETHER STATE; if we win singlepayer, so goes the nation. ALL ABOARD THE SINGLEPAYER HEALTHCARE FREEDOM TRAIN!
