On The PGMA Visit To Spain
Los Angeles-- “Mas vale la cola de un leon en la cabeza de una rata”
The Philippine Peasant Network (Pesante –USA) vehemently condemn the patronage displayed by King Juan Carlos I of Spain as a head of state to President Gloria Macapagal –Arroyo of the Philippines on her state visit to the former colonizer country.
Pesante also revolt at the ostentatious and arrogant display of Gloria’s illusion to be royalty, act like a queen and perpetuate herself in power, it is utterly disgusting and despicable and must be condemned.
While the King of Spain acted arrogantly towards President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela and admonished to” stop talking”, King Carlos called Gloria “a daughter” to show patronage as a caudillo to her vassal.
The events showed the string of memories on how Spain treated her colony as a land of “gold teeth monkeys” and exploited the nation, installed first mercantilism and later feudalism and for more than 300 years.
Today, Spain is reaching out her dirty tentacles in the different aspect of Filipino lives by dev eloping call center in Spanish, building light railways and deploying more domestic workers in the Iberian Peninsula.
The reimposition of Spanish neo-colonial relations came as a feudal dynastic rule of neo-fascists like Arroyo and the heir of dictator Francisco Franco; King Juan Carlos is a bitter pill for Filipinos.
We also strongly condemn a Spanish University giving of a Medal of Honor s for GMA for her “human right record.” It is an insult to Filipinos when her regime caused the death of more than 800 Filipinos and the disappearance of more than 200 activists since 2001.
Filipino heroes cry out from their graves on such travesty and injustice. If Bonifacio is alive today we believe that he will take out his bolo and throw out the fascist Spaniards and their Filipino lackeys like Gloria
But new Bonifacios and Jacintos are struggling against the new dictators outside and inside our homeland. As Bonifacio said and declared more aptly:
“Ihanda mo ina ang mga libingan ng maraming mawawakak na bangkay.”
