This is a press release for the biannual membership drive for the Comicbook Artists Guild.

MOODUS, CT, DECEMBER 3, 2007: As the holiday season reaches its pinnacle, an established artisan guild sets sights for the New Year. In its 7th year of operation, the Comicbook Artists Guild (CAG) is preparing to raise the bar by recruiting new members. Through a series of advertisements, networking and other promotional events, CAG hopes to increase their members across the country by 10%. Local CAG leaders will also be appearing on podcasts across the internet, all to spread the word of CAG.

CAG is a chapter-based organization and is currently located in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York City, Texas, South Carolina, Nebraska and Los Angeles. It is most commonly known for its convention appearances and its annual anthology publications. CAG is also building an online presence through their newly established Ning community. With over 100 members, CAG is growing by leaps and bounds. This year's membership drive will continue until January 31, 2008. New members may join via our website at http://www.comicartguild.com. Annual membership is $25.00 per person or $40.00 per family. When reflecting on the growth of the organization over the years, Keith Murphey, Co-founder and President of CAG, states "CAG continues to be a positive beacon of light, making a movement for all comic book creators that need hope and inspiration in an otherwise unmoved industry."

This membership drive is being supported and conducted nationwide. Regional Vice Presidents will work with State Coordinators to offer incentives to existing members, so that they spread the word of CAG and assist in recruiting new members. Mark Mazz, Creative Director and Vice President of New York Metro, comments "The Holiday Season is upon us, and as an organization we urge all our members to reach out to other members of the creative community during the days ahead. Whether they be members of the WGA, artists, web-designers, or artisans we all benefit when we help others. The membership drive is part of this out-reach as it allows CAG to foster the community we have all come to enjoy. Wishing you all good health, creative success and the best the season has to offer!"

Founded in 2000, the Comicbook Artists Guild is an organization designed to bring talented comic book artists together - be they writers, colorists, inkers, pencilers or all of the above - to collaborate on a project of their choice. CAG is also a great place to meet with other comic lovers to learn new tricks or techniques, or teach a few of your own! CAG is for anyone who loves comics and has the passion to create in any aspect of the field. For more information on CAG, please visit our website at http://www.comicartguild.com.
