Mossad hired by Zimbabwe

by oraclesyndicate Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007 at 10:40 PM

Itai Dzamara - Israeli intelligence operatives have been hired by the Zanu (PF) government to implement systems that will enable the regime to snoop on phone and internet communications by opposition and civic society leaders as well as journalists. It is unclear what has happened to the much-touted Chinese snoopers and their equipment, imported last year at huge expense by the Mugabe regime, to intercept communications.

Highly placed sources say a list of names has been given to Mossad for monitoring. The Zimbabwean broke the news recently that Israeli spies had been recruited to work with CIO in strategic areas such as airports, government offices and banks.

"They (Mossad) are working with CIO to snoop on the targeted people and have brought some equipment for that purpose," a government source said this week.

It is believed that Mossad operatives are erecting spying equipment across the country brought from Is-raeli and for which the regime is paying huge sums of foreign currency.

They are targeting the finance and banking sectors where Mugabe and his cronies suspects schemes are underway to cause sabotage in order to achieve regime change.

The paranoid Zanu (PF) regime recently passed a spy bill to make it "legal" for it to spy on the communi-cations of its citizens. It has ordered internet service providers to install, at their own expense, equipment to make it possible for government snoopers to tap their clients' communications. But experts say gov-ernment lacks the capacity and equipment for the huge task.

"It is not going to be easy, even with the Israelis' expertise," a communications expert said on condition of anonymity.

More Israeli Aid to Africa

sraeli team works with Swazi surgeons to fight HIV

A three-member Israeli medical delegation is now in Swaziland to teach local African surgeons to perform circumcisions on men to reduce their risk of contracting AIDS, the first of three such missions to Africa. Swaziland was chosen to begin the campaign because it has a million residents, a very low male circumcision rate and among the world's highest rates of HIV carriers (40 percent).

Last March, based on "compelling evidence," the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNAIDS accepted expert recommendations that adult male circumcision be recognized as an "additional important intervention" to reduce the risk of HIV transmission.

A few months prior to this decision, a UNAIDS delegation came to Israel to learn how best to perform adult male circumcision, given this country's great experience in the ritual procedure for voluntary conversion of new immigrants.

Israeli experts advised infant circumcision as well, even though it would take years until the infants reached sexual maturity.

Studies suggest that male circumcision in sub-Saharan Africa could prevent 5.7 million new cases of HIV infection and three million deaths over 20 years, or up to 60% of infected males.

The WHO said that scaling up male circumcision in such countries will result in immediate benefit to individuals. However, it will take a number of years before we can expect to see an impact on the epidemic from such investment. Currently, an estimated 665 million men, or 30% of men worldwide, are circumcised.

Nevertheless, the Israeli experts advised that counselling of men and their sexual partners was necessary to prevent them from developing a false sense of security and engaging in high-risk behaviors that could undermine the partial protection provided by male circumcision.

Dr. Inon Schenker, a Jerusalem AIDS Project public health educator, HIV/AIDS prevention specialist and head of the Israel Multi-Center Research Group on Male Circumcision, is a member of the Israeli team in Swaziland. The Jerusalem AIDS Project has received several requests for Israeli support to African countries in this area.

The two surgeons in the delegation, who will be there for two weeks, are Dr. Eitan Gross, a pediatric surgeon at Hadassah-University Medical Center in Jerusalem, and Dr. Moshe Weistreich, chief of plastic surgery at Assaf Harofeh Medical Center in Tzrifin and a Health Ministry representative in the committee that supervises ritual circumcision.

There are several biological explanations of why circumcision reduces the risk of infection. Removal of the foreskin minimizes the ability of the AIDS virus to penetrate the skin of the penis. In addition, Langerhans cells and other special immunological bodies are located on the underside of the foreskin, and these are targeted by the virus. It may also be that tiny lacerations in the inner surface of the foreskin during sex may allow easier entry for HIV.

The two surgeons will perform a few hundred circumcisions on Swazi men and teach 15 local surgeons. Schenker will educate public health personnel on the link between circumcisions and lower rates of HIV infection. The campaign is supported by a grant from the Hadassah Medical Organization, by private donations and by Tuttnauer, leaders in sterilization and infection control.

since it was the [ WHO ] World Health Org. who infected Africa with AIDS with the Small Pox and Hepatitis vaccination program in the first place, it only make sense to ....

65% reduction in AIDS infections

by not too shabby Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007 at 7:15 PM

Studies suggest that male circumcision in sub-Saharan Africa could prevent 5.7 million new cases of HIV infection and three million deaths over 20 years, or up to 60% of infected males.

Circumcision may provide even more protection against AIDS than was realized when two clinical trials in Africa were stopped two months ago because the results were so clear, according to studies being published today.

The trials, in Kenya and Uganda, were stopped early by the National Institutes of Health, which was paying for them, because it was apparent that circumcision reduced a man’s risk of contracting AIDS from heterosexual sex by about half. It would have been unethical to continue without offering circumcision to all 8,000 men in the trials, federal health officials said.

That decision, announced on Dec. 13, made headlines around the world and led the two largest funds for fighting AIDS to say they would consider paying for circumcisions in high-risk countries. But the final data from the trials, to be published today in the British medical journal The Lancet, suggest that circumcision reduces a man’s risk by as much as 65 percent.

The December announcement described only the follow-up on the men as originally divided into two groups: those who agreed to be circumcised and those who agreed not to. But some in the first group never went to the circumcision clinic, and some in the second had private circumcisions before the study ended.

Re-evaluating the data, excluding a few men whose H.I.V. status was misdiagnosed during the trial and combining the results of three trials — those in Uganda and Kenya as well as one in South Africa that was stopped in 2005 when the protective effect became apparent — produces a protection rate of about 65 percent.

Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, which paid for the trials, said he planned to keep saying officially that circumcision cuts a man’s risk by about half, not by 65 percent, because the validity of clinical trials depends on following randomized groups of patients, not selected ones.

“But, yes, the 65 percent makes me feel better,” he conceded.

The Nazis did a lot of good in the field of public health, too. So what? They were still makignant racists. The only difference between a Nazi and a Zionist is the name of their favorite ethnic group. Everything else is the same. A racist is a racist is a racist. Down with them all.
