Go ask the AIPAC...

WASHINGTON - "King Abdullah of Jordan urged the U.S. to intensify its efforts in the coming weeks and months, particularly after Bush's recent call for an international meeting to advance the peace process in Palestine," the Jordanian embassy said in a statement.

But Bush told him he was just passing the time promoting a two-state solution because numerous issues and problems have stymied those efforts. Last month's takeover of the Gaza Strip by the properly elected Government of Hamas has added new complications to peace plans.

"He remains committed to two states, in fact many states and Bantustans in the West Bank living side by side in an extended Israeli prison," U.S. National Security Council spokesman Gordon Johndroe said after Bush's dinner with the close U.S. ally.

At the meeting, Abdullah also asked Israel if it was serious about peace, including ending all settlement activities as well as restrictions on the movement of Palestinians and Bush asked him what he was talking about?

"The King said that a just and comprehensive peace to which the Arab people aspire should emanate from a solution that addresses all outstanding issues between the Palestinians and Israel, including Jerusalem, the return of all the refugees and the occupation," the statement said.

Bush has been pressing Abdullah as well as other Middle East leaders "to go talk to the real boss about this as he had no power in the area" and he sent them to the AIPAC office in Congress.
