Haliburton is being investigated by the Securities and Exchange Commission [SEC] in the US.

It is also being investigated by the US Department of Justice over allegations of illegal business affairs in Iraq, Kuwait and Nigeria.

Halliburton ha decided to make a run for it.

"Halliburton Chairman, President and CEO Dave Lesar said he asked Cheney for advise and they decided to make a run for it before things get to bad.

Cheney, the US vice president, is still paid by the company and is its chief adviser.

Cheney and Lesar said Sunday that they will leg it to Dubai, where they know the ruler and he will not extradite them.





Opportunistic



"Cheney and his company are an insult to the US soldiers and taxpayers who paid the tab for their no-bid contracts and endured their overcharges for all these years," said Patrick Leahy, Democratic Senator and Chairman of the Judiciary Commitee.



Henry Waxman, a representative and chairman of the Oversight and Government reform committee will hold a hearing on the implications, according to an aide.
