The Alliance for A just and Lasting Peace in the Philippines (AJLPP) –USA and its allied organizations in the United States vehemently condemn in the strongest term the passage of the Anti-Terrorism Bill (ATB) in the Philippine Senate yesterday. AJLPP National Coordinator Mario Santos said: The Senate and Arroyo’s action proved that the Philippine government’s brazen puppetry ( kakapalan ng mukha)and lackyism (pagpapakatuta) knows no bounds. It does not only order the killing of Filipinos but also allows the legalization of fascist laws and violation of its constitution.

Calls for the resumption of peace negotiations between NDF and the GRP.

Los Angeles – The Alliance for A just and Lasting Peace in the Philippines (AJLPP) –USA and its allied organizations in the United States vehemently condemn in the strongest term the passage of the Anti-Terrorism Bill (ATB) in the Philippine Senate yesterday.

“ US lackey-- Arroyo should stop imploring “law and order” because she cannot even follow the laws of her country. It was not enough for her to lie, to cheat and to rob her people blind. She orders their killings and repression!”

“With more than 830 progressive Filipinos killed by the military lackeys of Arroyo and another 200 missing or abducted by “death squads”, more political killings and arrests/detention will happen when the ATB will be passed before the Congress resume next June for a new term after the May 10, 2007 elections.” Santos exclaimed.

“The AJLPP and its allied organizations have to increased its actions and mobilizations to oppose and expose the rising tide of fascism and militarism which is the cause of terrorism and the absence of peace and justice in the Philippines.”

“AJLPP will also send fact finding teams and work ceaselessly for the resumption of peace negotiations between the National Democratic Front (NDF) and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and the Government of the Republic of the Philippines that has been stalled for years now.” Santos ended.
