A movie showing on January 2nd, say from 7:30 or so, preceded by a brief talk about the situation in Osaka and hopefully showing some similarities in urbanism with the destruction of the south central farm. The name of the film is Public Blue 関西公園 (in Japanese), and is fully bilingual throughout. It's about 70 minutes long.
'Assembled by visiting researchers and assorted radicals of Japan's western Kansai region, Kansai Kouen is a chronicle of the squatters' movement in Osaka as its participants face a tumultuous eviction in January 2005. As squatters and supporters tell their stories and stand up against the city, a new community is born.'
How about it?
