On December 6, 2006, the Democrats and Republicans in the House of Representatives put it on the record that they are one party in supporting the murder of Mumia Abu-Jamal by voting 368 to 31 to condemn the decision of St. Denis, France to name a street after Mumia Abu-Jamal. This is clearly a political frame-up of national and international stature as the murderer, Arnold Beverly, has confessed to killing Officer Faulkner, a whistleblower of police corruption on the Philadelphia police force 25 years ago, December 9, 1981.
There is lots more evidence of a frame-up in this case. See http://www.mumia2000.org/
You can view this infamous vote on House Bill 527 and find your congressperson there at http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2006/roll527.xml
You will see those voting yes include Nancy Pelosi, Doris Matsui, Henry Waxman, Linda Sanchez, Loretta Sanchez, Lucille Royball-Allard, Jane Harman, Joe Baca, Bob Filner, Susan Davis, and many other Democrats, all listed in italics on this List of Shame.
The Democratic Party has been heavily involved in the framing of Mumia Abu-Jamal. The Philadelphia district attorney in 1982 who framed Mumia Abu-Jamal was Ed Rendell, an old friend of former Pres. Clinton and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, whose wife is an appellate judge on the Third Circuit US Court of Appeals which is supposed to hear Mumia's appeal. Rendell also presided over the police bombing of the MOVE home in Philadelphia in 1984, resulting in 11 deaths and 65 homes destroyed. Rendell later was mayor of Philadelphia from 1992 to 1999, chair of the National Democratic Committee in 2000 and has been Governor of Pennsylvania since 2003. He ran for mayor on a platform that included promoting the murder of Mumia Abu-Jamal.
To vote Democrat or Republican is to vote for the murder of Mumia Abu-Jamal, for the death penalty, for war, for the murder of the Palestinians, and for capitalism. The alternatives are Peace & Freedom Party and the Green Party, both staunch opponents of the death penalty, war, and the murder of the Palestinians. P&F, a socialist party, also opposes capitalism and has been in the forefront of the campaign to free Mumia Abu-Jamal. See http://www.peaceandfreedom.org
