Crooks and Liars is carrying a report on this scumbag's racist, hate filled National Alliance / National Vanguard / Save Our State / Minutemen / Klu Klux Klan spew.
…pointed to Miami as an example of how ''the nature of America can be changed by uncontrolled immigration,'' the story says'Look at what has happened to Miami,'' the WorldNetDaily quotes Tancredo as saying in an interview. “It has become a Third World country. You just pick it up and take it and move it someplace. You would never know you're in the United States of America. You would certainly say you're in a Third World country.''

Look, the author may be motivated by racism and his goals may be racist, but there is something very wrong with Miami. I lived there for two years and moved out because it was impossible to live a good and healthy life there.
The problems with Miami are not racial, they are political. Miami is the home to thousands of unproductive, poorly educated, and down-right angry people who could not make it in a socialist country, largely due to their selfishness, egoism, sociopathic tendencies, and low intelligence. Cuban retains the productive, intelligent, and sane Cubans and lets Miami have the rest.
Unless you have lived in Miami, you do not know what Miami really is. It is a place where rapists and murderers set free from Cuban roam the streets. It is a place where Latin Americans come filled with tales about a beautiful paradise only to find a rotten and decaying city of angry selfish mental cases. Surrounded by this failed city, they too come to resent their lives and the cycle of anger and bitterness continues.
Cuban business owners systematically discriminate against non-Cubans in hiring. They discriminate against White Americans, Black Americans, Asian Americans and non-Cuban Latin Americans. In fact, they treat non-Cuban Latin Americans the worst.
The city has the country's highest vehiclar homicide rate, the lowest level of education (this is a fact supported by studies), one of the highest rates of violence, the highest rate of corruption, the rate of AIDS in the US, and a higher rate of poverty than New Orleans.
Miami is a failure because Americans failed to apply their immigration policies intelligently. We accepted fascist criminals simply because they were leaving a communist country and we refused to accept Latin American's best in brightest from Central American and Mexico because they are brown. We ended up with a city of losers.
If anything, Miami is proof that politics should play no role in immigration. Miami is what it is because a blank invitation was given to those unable to live in a cooperative society.

"It was only after I had filmed him doing his amazing raps," Gittoes recalls, "that he told me that he was only in the army because it was too dangerous for him in Miami. He said it was safer in Baghdad than back home, and he invited me to come visit his neighbourhood." Curious to investigate the incongruity of black American soldiers fighting a war for George Bush when the president had abandoned their community, the director accompanied Lovett back home.

I went there on vacation, and took a generic bus tour, and the driver was a racist Cuban fellow. He subtly denigrated Dominicans and Hatians (who are Black) as well as Mexicans and Guatemalans. At different points in the tour he drove us past some ghetto-looking houses that Haitians used to live in, and then drove us to some tacky Cuban suburb-like houses. Lame. Huge waste of time and money. I had more fun taking taxi rides, buses, and walking.
It reminded me of a time when I went to New Orleans, and a white lady on the bus told me she didn't like "the pepper" meaning Black people.
That's what I learned about the American South. People higher up on the social/racial ladder are eager to bond through racism. That sounds like the 3rd world to me.

Miami may be a crummy area, if it is, but it's still kinda childish for someone to point at it and say it's a symptom of general "uncontrolled immigration." By the way, did Tancredo leave the word "illegal" out and speak against immigration in general?

Actually, it's much much worse than that. I know a Puerto Rican guy who lived in Miami in the '50s, when it was "like heaven" as he tells it. Then he watched appalled as it abruptly turned into hell. This guy hates Miami now more than Tancredo, but his reasons aren't racist! The actual historic reason for this, once you understand it, will make your blood run icy cold
From Tarpley's & Chaitkin's 'Unauthorized Biography of George H. W. Bush': "...JM/WAVE ...proliferated across [Florida] in preparation for the Bay of Pigs invasion. A subculture of fronts, proprietaries, suppliers, transfer agents, conduits, dummy corporations, blind drops, detective agencies, law firms, electronic firms, shopping centers, airlines, radio stations, the mob and the church and the banks: a false and secret nervous system twitching to stimuli supplied by the cortex in Clandestine Services in Langley. After defeat on the beach in Cuba, JM/WAVE became a continuing and extended Miami Station, CIA's largest in the continental United States. A large sign in front of the [...] building complex reads: U.S. GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS PROHIBIT DISCUSSION OF THIS ORGANIZATION OR FACILITY.
- Donald Freed, Death in Washington (Westport, Connecticut, 1980), p. 141.
Now Tarpley & Chaitkin: ...the JM/WAVE-Miami station complex was growing rapidly to become the largest of Langley's [CIA's] many satellites. Its center was at the former Richmond Naval Air Station south of Miami, which had been a base for antisubmarine blimps during World War II. During the years after the failure of the Bay of Pigs, this complex had as many as 3,000 Cuban agents and subagents, with a small army of case officers to direct and look after each one. According to one account, there were at least 55 dummy corporations to provide employment, cover, and commercial disguise for all these operatives. There were detective bureaus, gun stores, real estate brokerages, boat repair shops, and party boats for fishing and other entertainments. There was the clandestine Radio Swan, later renamed Radio Americas. There were fleets of specially modified boats based at Homestead Marina, and at other marinas throughout the Florida Keys. Agents were assigned to the University of Miami and other educational institutions.
The raison d'etre of the massive capability commanded by Theodore Shackley was now Operation Mongoose, a program for sabotage raids and assassinations to be conducted on Cuban territory, with a special effort to eliminate Fidel Castro personally. In order to run these operations from U.S. territory, flagrant and extensive violation of federal and state laws was the order of the day. Documents regarding the incorporation of businesses were falsified. Income tax returns were faked. FAA regulations were violated by planes taking off for Cuba or for forward bases in the Bahamas and elsewhere. Explosives moved across highways that were full of civilian traffic. The Munitions Act, the Neutrality Act, the customs and immigrations laws were routinely flaunted [13]. Above all, the drug laws were massively violated as the gallant anti-communist fighters filled their planes and boats with illegal narcotics to be smuggled back into the U.S. when they returned from their missions. By 1963, the drug-running activities of the covert operatives were beginning to attract attention. JM/WAVE, in sum, accelerated the slide of south Florida towards the status of drug and murder capital of the United States it achieved during the 1980's, when it became as notorious as Chicago during Prohibition."
Here's the short version: Miami came down with cancer, big time. The name of the carcinogen: thuh See Eye Ay (with lot's of help from its soulmates, the Mafia and Batista's coterie). By the 1980s and Operation Watchtower, the metastasis was complete.
Tancredo's a lying gasbag. What happened to Miami was due to an extraordinary convergence of psychopathic elite criminals. Some came up from further south, some went DOWN from "Up North"...
The present condition of Miami might just be the CIA's gravest crime against the Constitution and the American people. They need to be lined up against a wall and shot like the traitors they are.

The governor of Miami at least has the whatever to tell Tancredo he's wrong. Our gov says the Minutemen rock (they remind him of his dad, I guess).
