The Border Network for Human Rights have submitted a comprehensive
border report to the United Nations Human Rights Commission (which is meeting
this month in Geneva). This report summarizes the years of human rights documentation
done by the Border Network, Border Action Network and allies. Additionally,
the report includes an analysis of border issues and border policy recommendations
- The Guidelines for Alternative Border Enforcement Policies and Practices -
developed in the last two years through extensive consultation with our organized
border communities at community forums, within the human rights committees and
with human rights promoters. The report is available
here as a pdf or at www.borderaction.org.
