I joined a demonstration under way which hopefully will take place once a week from now on.

Impromptu Protest Against Fascist Regime
While traveling through Glendora on my bicycle I went past a vivacious group of anti-fascism / anti-Bush regime demonstrators standing on a street corner. I went home, got my water canteen and camera, and then bicycled down to join them for an hour or so.
What was neat about the small demonstration was that the citizens of the city are almost all completely supportive of opposing this fascist regime and its crimes against humanity as well as the regime’s massive treason against America. To be sure there’s always a percentage of any population that will support, defend, and applaud fascist atrocities (we only saw two such individuals through the time I was there) but virtually everyone in the city is well aware of what Bush and his regime stands for.
If I’m not mistaken most of the activists were Green Party or in solidarity with Green Party candidates. Also this is the first time I’ve seen any active exhibition against fascism in this city so I was happy to see that I’m not the only one willing to exercise what’s left of the country’s freedom of speech rights while standing on street corners. I was assured that such demonstrations are planned to be fairly regular from now on.
It’s great having the occasional comic exhibition of a fascism-defending clown driving by in his huge white gas guzzling pickup truck plastered with “support our troops” yellow ribbon stickers and “George Bush!” bumper stickers. As I said, we only got two of them and the first one was screaming something about “He’s your President! You should” soothing or another. ‘Couldn’t tell what he was screaming because we call cheered him and gave him “peace signs” which appeared to anger the poor guy some.
My opinions only and only my opinions.

Fred,
Hopefully it will take place from now on but my experience is that the Move On crowd only comes out when they are given permission from Move On to do so.
Let us know if they are back next week.
thanks, Pete

Fred or Pete whatever you are calling yourself at the moment:
"What was neat about the small demonstration was that the citizens of the city are almost all completely supportive of opposing this fascist regime and its crimes against humanity as well as the regime’s massive treason against America
Show me where you got this information about Glendora. The Registar says that 53% of Glendora is registered Republican.
By the way I think it's cute the way you use a different screen name to thank yourself..

And, 53% Republican in a relatively wealthy foothill community isn't exactly difficult. There are cities down in the flats of the SG Valley that are half Republican.
The era of the "Reagan Democrats" is over. We've got Republicans nostalgic for the Clinton era.
Here's my big prediction for the second half of the decade. The big thing to watch out for: the Green Reactionaries.

"Here's my big prediction for the second half of the decade. The big thing to watch out for: the Green Reactionaries"
Very true.
So the majority of the area is Republican. What difference does it make? They're just not as in denial about what they're voting for. The Democrats could have stopped the war. Did they? Not by a long shot. Kerry's arguement...don't worry, I'm for the war, too. When the 2000 election was stolen, all it would have taken was ONE senator to stand with the Black Caucus for a recall. Did anyone stand up? NOT ONE! In April in Sacramento, during the state Democratic convention, when we stood outside begging them to endorse the efforts that would happen May 1...the call to stop ongoing efforts against immigrants...they didn't even MENTION it.

Amusing. Somebody thinks I post under different names. Bet you the poor individual is a Republican.
What's also amusing is that the individual apparently thinks that one has to be Republican to support, applaud, and defend this fascist regime's crimes against humanity and treason against America. He thinks that since "53% of Glendora is registsred Republican" than all of them support this fascist terrorist regime's crimes and treason.
Presumably that speaks volumes about this "Gunny" character though I suspect he or she should be rather ashamed of exposing itself like that in public. As if being a registered Republican automatically means you defend the rape, kidnap, and torture of innocent people and support the massive treason the Bush regime commits against America.
Interesting and amusing.

Remember, the Republicans did not wage this war on their own. The Demoncats are in most cases just as much NWO pawns. This is bigger than 'Republican good, Democrat bad'.
No, I am not a Republican.

You're right it is not purely a democratic or republican split. The democrats were on board back when it looked like it was going to be easy. They were the classic fair weather patriots.
My original comment concerned taking exception to the statement:
"that the citizens of the city are almost all completely supportive of opposing this fascist regime and its crimes against humanity as well as the regime’s massive treason against America"
Complete wishful thinking on Rice/Nice's part. Of course the next post will try to redefine the phrase "almost all completely"
It is true that a lot of Rebublicans are mad at Bush for his immigration beliefs. He would pick up 30 popularity points tommorrow if he dropped his goofy ideas about an amnesty program. Indeed, the Republican party may lose some seats in November. It promises to be a bloodbath for amnesty promoters
That 15 embittered green party members tried to Blame Bush for current energy prices is hardly a reflection on the the city of Glendora.
You can look at todays LA Times for an interesting appraisal of Americans preceptions of Bush and the War.
