LOS ANGELES – May 12, 2006 On the 2nd Friday of the month at 9:30 pm , bicyclists gather at the intersection of Sunset and Echo Park. This has become the starting point for a late night bike ride that weaves its way through the streets of Los Angeles. They call themselves the Midnight Ridazz.

What started two years ago as a group of 8 friends who got together for a midnight bike around the city has become a rolling street party approaching 1,000 riders.
The ride is not affiliated with the international Critical Mass rides, yet it operates in much the same way. Experienced Medics, Mechanics and Corkers, make this ride peaceful and safe, (Corkers is the term for those who manage car traffic). Each month has a theme and rolling DJs and themed costumes create a party on wheels.
There is no fixed route and each month is different. This ride included a stop at Mariachi Plaza in Boyle Heights for dancing. The ride ended at Club Echo for a show by one of LA’s local favorites, Very Be Careful.
