This Weekend: Join in National Protests to End the War
The US occupation forces have just launched the biggest aerial assault on Iraq since "shock and awe" rained down bombs on the people in 2003. "Operation Swarmer" is supposedly aimed at catching insurgents near Samarra. This assault is nothing but an aggressive and murderous attack on the people of Iraq. The Washington Post today reported on a US military operation in Iraq to capture an al Qaeda operative which left at least 11 civilians dead, including 5 children. This is the nature of this murderous and illegitimate war, and the looming threat of civil war is not an excuse for the Bush crime family to commit more war crimes against the Iraqi people.
As the 3rd anniversary of the start of this ugly war approaches, not only has this atrocious assault begun, but Bush released a national security report ardently defending his doctrine of pre-emptive and endless war. While making threats against Iran, Bush justified military attacks against countries which pose no immediate threat. Bush also made clear his intentions for the US to continue in a permanent state of war, not just on Iraq, but any country he fabricates evidence to attack.
Ask yourself: can you watch this new military assault on Iraq and hear Bushs doctrine of pre-emptive and permanent war set the course for the future and NOT put your energy into ending this war and driving out this criminal regime?
