Alison Weir, the ex. dir. of "If Americans Knew..." hosts a website with updated information on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Readers must ask, if Weir is a "human rights activist" why does she ONLY report on this one conflict? The level of human rights abuses in Iran or the Sudan greatly exceed anything the Israelis have done.
She provides only SELECTED stats. For instance, her death toll of Palestinians doesn't have a separate column which lists self-inflicted deaths committed by suicide/homicide bombers. This stat is over 128 in the past five years and rising. Weir allows readers to ASSUME they were all killed by the IDF.
Finally, where is her breakdown of deaths by gender?
Weir KNOWS she can't include these, for they point to the exact opposite of what she wants her readers to conclude.
The fact is, only 2.5% of Palestinin deaths are female. Compared with nearly 25% of Israeli deaths being female, this undercuts Weir's attempt to claim the IDF is killing civilians willy-nilly. Think about it. If the IDF were shooting into crowds, or into windows, or at crowds at the checkpoints, then the death toll would be more evenly divided between males and females.
Another state Alison Weir doesn't want you to know about is that the deaths of "Palestinian children" are almost exclusively boys between the ages of 13 and 17.
These boys are getting killed because they are already combatants--whether throwing stones, transporting bombs, or using guns, or becoming suicide bombers.
Weir has NO CRITICISM for the Palestinians engaging children to be used as combatants, the major factor in the deaths of Palestinian youths under age 18.
If you shoot a child in the eye, a common IDF practice, you don't have to list it as a death. But the child is brain damaged for life.
If you shoot a child on their own front steps, eating a sandwich, you can claim they were a) smuggling weapons b) throwing stones c) acting as a lookout, or the favorite one, it was an unfortunate mistake.
